Life Transitions Support Groups
Painting Our Way Through Divorce
This is a 4-week support group for those individuals who can benefit from the support of other divorcees getting together to use process painting as a way to express their intense and mixed emotions. We will work on the same canvas for the entire month, doing and undoing, using shapes and colors metaphorically, without worrying about creating “an image”. No art experience or talent is needed to benefit from this process. Price: $40/1,5 hr session.
Women and Dolls: Archetypes of Life Stages
Are you going through a major life transition? Are you about to finish college and enter “the real world”? Are you getting married? Are you pregnant or just gave birth to a baby and are adjusting to motherhood? Are you an empty nester? Dolls have been created throughout time and across continents not only as children’s toys but also as objects of spiritual, magical, ritual and psychological value. In this 4-week women’s group we will support each other in our respective life transitions as we create dolls of various women archetypes. No art experience or talent is needed to benefit from this process. Price: $40/1,5 hr session.
4-Week Grief and Loss Creative Arts Group
Whatever your age or loss, this is the group to join if you are in need of additional time and/or support as you are grieving. You might be taking longer then what people around you seem to expect, or be experiencing disenfranchised grief. Remember that the deeper the connection and love with the person/animal you lost, the longer/harder the grief. So rather then worrying about why you’re not doing it right, or why there is something wrong with you, join us in this mindfulness based creative arts group where we’ll use various art exercises to express and process our losses. No art experience or talent is needed to benefit from this group. Price: $40/1,5 hr session.
This group is for students and new therapists working towards the completion of their LPC or ATR requirements. Art making, gestalt experientials, and case consultation will accompany theoretical discussions.
